Title of Works: ”My Soul Speaks Through My Dreams” & “Turtle Dance”
“My Soul Speaks Through My Dreams” is a multidisciplinary live art performance that was captured on video and photographic images by the Greek photographer Dimitris Kourakos who has been documenting my work , "My Soul Speaks Through My Dreams” is a 10-minute-long performance video created in Mani , Peloponnese. Some of the inspiration for this work came from the study of C G Jung’s work , in particular the unique and fascinating Red Book which traces the psychic and creative processes of his inner journey during his own mental breakdown. In Red Book Jung emphasizes again and again the importance of dreams, visions and their connection to creativity and well being. Jung once said that modern so called knowledge does not enrich us, but instead it ‘’removes us more and more from the mythic world in which we were once at home by right of birth’’
“Turtle Dance” live art performance that took place at the meeting place of the river and the sea in Vathi and this area of the eastern Mani, Peloponnese is home to two different species of turtles the sea turtle and the land turtle. I have found and cleaned the land turtle shell and was inspired to create this piece in homage to both turtles who symbolically meet just as the river and the sea meets here.
